Blog Birthday! Happy 20th!

Despite all the excitement of the past few days and weeks, I didn’t want to let this one slip.

This blog is twenty years old!

That first post invokes last.fm and Deus Ex: Invisible War, to really stick a pin in the calendar (importantly though, it’s 2026 and still we scrobble). That was all the way back in my newton64.ca days; another name, another life. I do have the entire posting history backed up somewhere (I almost can’t remember what I even used back then… probably Wordpress?), but only migrated some select/historical posts to this current incarnation of the site, using Jekyll and all that.

We’re approaching the point where I’ll have had this blog for more than half of my human lifespan—how many people can say that! Several, probably.

Also worth noting that in the intervening years, I did play through DX:IW again, and finally grabbed a screenshot of the mission statement that started it all…

I’m working on it.
